selene was born like a human, just not with a soul like humans do. so as a gift to make her complete, a succubus used a hellhounds soul to fit in the last puzzle piece. this succubus  can not make children, but selene was her first. which has people asking" if she cant make children in the first place, how is it that selene was born?" no one knows for it is a secret.
all you need to know is that selene is normal.
At age 14 at the first year in highschool she somehow "awakened" her power from an attack of a band of sirens which are known as Altia, Patricia, and Harley.
At a young age, selene couldnt adapt her behavior very well which ended her kicked out of schools everywhere, at age 9 she managed to fix after the death of her mother( which was a suicide of overdose of drugs after her dad left her).
After that she promised that she will do better with her life and try to help those in need. After her mothers death ryan took her into custody for a bit till their uncle came to pick them up at a orphan station while they  waited for him since that place was the safest.
